Ladies,
Fellowship with our sisters in Christ at Metro Baptist Church is an important part of our lives. We extend a warm welcome to you and would love to have you join one or all of our fellowship groups. Our goals are to offer opportunities for friendship and to promote spiritual growth. It is our desire to encourage and “lift up” each other in prayer and to build strong personal friendships. Be sure to check our calendar for details about upcoming get–togethers and don’t hesitate to contact us if you are able to help in any of these areas. We look forward to seeing you there! Quilt N' Craft Ann Shrader, Pat Peterson We’ve scheduled a variety of crafts & classes this year and want to extend a special invitation to each of you ladies to join us as we learn about quilting, cake decorating, scrapbooking, flower arranging, etc. The Lord has blessed Metro with several talented ladies who are willing to teach these classes. We try to meet about twice per month; we usually meet at the church; and we always have a great time. Please watch the bulletin for information about upcoming classes.
Metro Helping Hands Patti Carr, Metro Staff Our Helping Hands ministry is service oriented for our church family at times when a “helping hand” is needed and appreciated (such as an extended illness, recovery after surgery, or funeral helps...or when our widows and singles need some assistance). Metro Helping Hands also keeps our church kitchen in shape. If you’ve not done so yet (for men & women), please complete our Metro Helping Hands Questionnaire and your name will be added to the schedule. We could not do this without your help! Thank you!
Ladies' Christmas Schedule Metro Staff Wives Our plan is to put our Ladies’ Christmas Schedule on a three year rotation: Cookie Exchange (first year,) Christmas Tea (second year), and Metro Homes Tour (third year). This means that we’ll have our Metro Christmas Cookie Exchange this coming December, 2008. What a great way to kick off the holiday season, you’ll not want to miss the warm fellowship nor will you want to miss seeing some great decorating ideas. We’ll be putting together and delivering some special baskets for our shut-ins. Join us for some good, old-fashioned Christmas fun and spend a few hours with your Metro Sisters in Christ.
Ladies' Banquet (or Luncheon) Ann Shrader, Kathy Wilkes You won’t want to miss our annual banquet (or luncheon) which is usually scheduled in May or early June. Check the church calendar for announcements and look for Sign Up lists for this special event. Your time and talents will be put to good use! The program and speaker will lift your spirits and encourage your heart. Invite a friend and make plans to attend!
Metro Ladies' Dates Kathy Wilkes These “dates” are occasionally scheduled just for fun! Do you like to hike? shop? browse for antiques? Sometimes we plan an event and invite our men to attend too! Any of these activities are more fun when enjoyed as a group. This past year, our theme has been “Show Us Your Hometown” and we’ve been visiting some of the great towns around the Kansas City area. Please contact Kathy Wilkes with suggestions and we’ll work with you to put your home-town or favorite town on our calendar!
Grandmothers' Prayer Circle Phyllis Robart Our Grandmother’s Prayer Circle meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at the church at 10:00 am. You are invited to join in to take time to “pray for one another.” Please watch the calendar for any changes in meeting times. You will be encouraged and blessed as you spend quality prayer time with each other.
