Larry Webb joined Antioch Bible Baptist Church and was on staff as the Youth Minister. After 6 months, Pastor Joe Kreeger of Antioch Bible Baptist Church, convinced Larry that God had sent him to Kansas City to start a church in Platte County. 1988With help from Antioch Bible Baptist Church, Larry Webb with his family and 8 other families started Metro Baptist Church at 8114 NW Prairie View Rd. The first services were conducted on May 1, 1988. 1992Pastor Webb had to move back to California due to health problems, at which time Bill Burrows became the pastor until October 1993. 1993In April 1993, Metro Baptist moved to 10336 NW Prairie View Rd to a larger building. Metro Baptist was at this location until April 1994 when it moved to its present location at 1510 NW Vivion Rd. Pastor Lon Stewart became the pastor of Metro Baptist Church in October 1993. 2005In January 2004, at the milestone of 50 years in the ministry, Pastor Stewart has decided to retire from the pastorate.
